Life hacks to save your skin this Summer

1. Correct Sunscreen – You should know what type of sunscreen is suitable for you. It can be SPF 30, 40 or 50 depending on the duration you will be outside or depending on your skin tone. Just be sure to apply sun protection to any skin that is not covered like shoulders, hand, feet and more.

2. Switch your winter creams – You need to change the heavy night creams that you apply in winters for dry and dead skin. For summers use some light concealers or bb and cc cream as there is to much sweating in summers and you do not want to look like a melted cake.

3. Reveal your skin – You should wash and exfoliate your skin regularly so that the dead skin layer is removed and it leaves your skin healthy and smooth. Products that chemically exfoliate the skin contain ingredients such as glycolic, salicylic, or polyhydroxy acids that cause the skin to shed its outer layer and reveal the newer layer.

4. After hair removal – If you plan to laser, wax or shave your hair for going out you should do it 48 hours before stepping out in the sun. This is necessary as you should give your skin sometime to recover before stepping out as follicles are prone to irritation and skin can be sensitive to heat. Even if it is an emergency you should apply oil free sunscreen and baby talc powder before stepping out.

5. Clean the sweat – Whenever you return from outside make sure to wash your face thoroughly. Always carry a wet towel or tissues for wiping your face after you exercise as you will sweat a lot during summers. If your are going out always carry makeup remover towels or wet tissues in case you sweat a lot and you need to touch up your face.

6. Food to prevent UV rays – Sunscreen is not the only option to prevent UV rays, there are certain food products that you can consume to prevent those scorching sun rays. One of the most important food is TOMATOES – eat them raw, cooked, grilled, tomato ketchup or you can even have Bloody Marys as a drink.

Best Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

Skin Rejuvenation is a popular cosmetic procedure that can help rejuvenate the skin cells and reduce the effects of the sun, aging, and other facial skin disorders. Treatments are safe, effective, and convenient. Also, the cost of cosmetic laser skin resurfacing is minimal compared to many other treatment options.Laser skin rejuvenation, or laser peel as it is often called, removes damaged outer layers of skin and stimulates the production of collagen and new skin cells in the underlying layers, bringing about smoother, younger, healthier-looking skin.

Points to remember:-

  • You simply cannot talk about rejuvenation if you are tanning and smoking.
  • Proper diet is essential.
  • Sun damage must be corrected with topical retinoids and laser. Pearl and Fraxel is best to be used.
  • Dynamic wrinkles should be addressed with Botox, and the sooner you start, the better. The benefits of Botox become cumulative and once the skin is too loose, Botox does not give as great of a result.
  • Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane, Radiesse, and Sculptra may be used to achieve natural fullness and more youthful contours. We lose volume in our face with age, so it must be restored. If you do a face lift without volume correction, you will just look tighter, not younger.

The best treatment for skin rejuvenation varies depending upon an individual’s skin type, age, ethnicity, sun exposure, and overall health.

Major proponent of a healthy lifestyle:  diet high in fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and fish, 8-10 hours of sleep, limiting alcohol intake other than the occasional glass of red wine, and regular exercise.  Next step for all skin types is sun protection including daily sunscreen, sun hats and sunglasses….and avoiding sunburns!

Moving on to reversing signs of damage, one should first and foremost using a daily topical vitamin A product such as tretinoin  (by prescription) or retinol (over the counter).  If these cannot be tolerated, then anti-oxidant topical creams such as vitamin C, E, co-enzyme Q, coffeeberry, or green tree extracts can be used.  Regular exfoliation with topical AHA/BHAproducts (glycolic acids, fruit acids, salicylic acids) either  as leave on products or peels are extremely helpful to use at least 1-2 times weekly.  Maintaining skin hydration using topical moisturizing creams is also beneficial.  Older, delicate and drier skin may require thicker moisturizers and younger, acne prone skin may require oil free moisturizers or serums.

It is never too late to start a skin care regimen.  After years of neglect, it may be helpful to first undergo a series of medical grade peels, supplemented with photofacials as necessary.

Deep folds and dynamic wrinkles and fine wrinkles are best treated by combinations of fillers, botox and resurfacing laser procedures.

Cost

There are a variety of factors that go into determining the exact cost of cosmetic laser skin resurfacing treatment. There is the surgeon’s fee, the cost of the facility and anesthesia, and also the expenses incurred from the pre and post-operative care. Scheduling a complete patient consultation with a laser surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist is the best way to achieve the most accurate cost estimates for your specific procedure. We would suggest you to consult radiant skin clinic if you are looking for such a treatment.
